 Decent Phone for the price June 5, 2010

Bought this phone for my home office - needed a simple low cost corded phone with speakerphone & caller ID (I do a lot of conference calls). I use it with a Plantronics inline headset - sound quality is very good, no problem being heard or hearing others.
Quirk about this phone: when I hang up the handset, after a moment I hear a dial tone briefly coming out of the earpiece and then it 'finally' hangs up. Initially had to return this phone because it wouldn't hang up at all (dial tone remained even when the phone was on the hook) but the new one seems to work better.

I like this phone. It has a lot of features that I need, as I use it in my home office. The voice quality is good. The phone itself is a little lightweight & can be pulled off a surface too easily, so it should weigh a little bit more. The music played when you put the phone on hold is pretty awful: that should be improved. Overall I would recommend this phone.

Good unit. Handset sound level is good. Works with 2.5 headsets. The display is not back lit nor tilt able so placement is important.

I'm back on Amazon shopping for a new phone/answering machine and when I saw this listing I decided to a write a quick review. I've had this phone for a year or so. It is not nearly as good as other panasonic phones I've owned in the past. The sound is only so-so and the answering machine has never been very clear. A few months ago it stopped playing any outgoing message but the prerecorded default. Now it bounces an echo back at anyone trying to leave a message. It is headed for the trash.
