I ordered this product mostly for its speaker phone feature, so I could do hands free talking while at my desk. But, that was the only feature that didn't work. When using it, I could hear the person speaking very clearly, but they could bearly hear me. My voice would fade in and out and at an extremely low volume to boot. I returned the phone, only to find that the replacement had the same exact problem.

This is a nice corded phone. We are using it on the wall. The only bad feature is the very small thin hook to hold the receiver on the phone. We had another AT&T phone before this one, and the hook was so small and thin, the when my wife hung up the receiver, the thing broke off; thus endeth the wall phone. This hook is no better.

I was looking for a simple self-contained speaker phone to hang on my wall. The CL2909 is perfect for me. I mistakenly purchased the CL4939 model first and it did not meet my needs at all: mainly because an ugly black powercord hangs down to plug into a wall outlet. The CL2909 does not use AC current. It uses four AA batteries instead of AC (batteries not included). The only negative about the CL2909 is that the LCD screen is not backlit. When the room is dark, the display is a bit difficult to read. Otherwise, it feels like a good quality phone and the speaker is nice and loud.
