It'll do the job July 26, 2010 H. M. Ruben First off, if you want to hang this phone on the wall, forget about it. The non-backlit display is just NOT readable in that position. On the desk, it's just fine - nice big display and easy to read. Just don't hang it on the wall. Plenty of memories, and self-alphabetizing, too. Hidden trick is that you can force any entry to the top of the list by entering a blank before you enter the name. Being able to enter a name in addition to a number is a good feature. I wonder if the 19 minutes of recoding time is enough, but mine is in a residence and it should be more than adequate. Why don't they just include a slot where you can insert a card? Audio quality is good. Programming isn't too difficult, but don't lose the manual! It just went in yesterday, so I can't address reliability.
So, here's a suggestion to phone makers: Add a slot for, say, an SD card. Create a form to go on the web where you could program all memories speed dial names and numbers, and also override all the presets on the phone. Then write to the card, and stick it in the phone, eliminating a hour or more work -- plus provide a backup in the event of accidental erasure of a number, which is easy to do on this phone.
Its great and easy to setup the features July 25, 2010 Jilly For the person who wants easy this is the phone to get. Its very easy to understand how to set up the features and a joy to own because its easy to USE.
Love the phone except after power failures July 19, 2010 Lotus (Peoria, IL) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This phone has a decent speakerphone which is why I bought it, so that does make me happy. It has a very good answering machine and alerts you with a frequent beep and a flashing light. Since I keep it in another room I'm happy it has the beep. The Caller ID works well and the display appearance is decent. However, there is one drawback and that is that the phone does not have a battery back-up (no power or batteries) which is nice unless you have a power failure! We seem to have our fair share of these and therefore our phone flashes "set clock" most of the time! It keeps the memory of stored phone numbers however. I'm giving it a 3 because of the set clock issue as it really should have a battery or a short term memory after a power failure. If you don't have many power failures - you'll like this item I think.
WOULDN'T BUY AGAIN June 16, 2010 D.L. Graves (Tennessee) 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
THIS PHONE IS O.K. WITH THE EXCEPTION IT IS NOT LIGHTED. THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT TO. IT'S BY MY BED-SIDE AND I LIKE TO SEE WHO'S CALLING ME. THE PHONE WORKS GOOD AND THE SOUND IS GOOD, price is not to bad. THE ONLY THING THAT I HAVE PROBLEMS WITH is not lighhted. I would not buy it again.
Can't see why AT&T would build a phone that is not lighted. I should have done a little more investigating I guess. Sure don't like it!!
Great phone, exept no Hold button June 14, 2010 H. Klaver I wanted a phone that does not use batteries so I won't need to worry about when to replace them.
This phone comes with an AC adapter so it fills that need.
I wanted a speakerphone with an LCD display for caller ID, Mute button, one-button dialing, and Hold button.
This phone does not have one-button dialing, but it does have two button dialing (Mem button followed by a single digit mem location) which is fine. The only feature missing is Hold. The large number buttons were not on my want list, but I like them. We'll see how well it holds up over time, but my initial reaction is very favorable.
